FIC Luanda 2026 is a public platform for the promotion and appreciation of Angolan cinema, bringing together film screenings, a national competition, training, cultural exchange, and networking among creators, professionals, and audiences. It will take place from October 28 to November 2, 2026, in Luanda, featuring both national and international participation.

FIC Luanda is promoted by the National Agency for Cultural and Creative Industries (ANICC), an institution under the Ministry of Culture, which ensures the institutional guidance and responsibility of the Festival.

Geração 80's involvement stems from the selection process for the entity responsible for producing FIC Luanda 2026, where several companies were invited to submit proposals. Of these, only three responded to the invitation and submitted proposals for review. Following the evaluation of the received proposals, Geração 80 was selected based on the quality and suitability of its proposal, its accumulated experience in the sector, and the technical, operational, and organizational capacity demonstrated to execute an event of FIC Luanda's scale and complexity.

The overall budget for FIC has already been publicly announced. However, as the Festival is still in the preparation phase, final costs are still being calculated. The consolidated financial execution will be presented at the end of the Festival as part of its respective accountability report.

The investment in FIC is part of a public policy to value the cultural and creative sector, as outlined in the NDP 2023-2027. The Festival brings together exhibitions, training, promotion of national production, content circulation, professional exchange, and the bridging of creators and audiences.

The interruption affected its regularity, not FIC's relevance or purpose. The 2026 edition represents a structured resumption, with a clear institutional framework, national and international programming, public openness, and integration into a broader ANICC agenda for the development of cinema and audiovisuals. The Festival's credibility is affirmed by the quality of this edition and the continuity that will be built from it.

Because the 2026 edition is structured to create continuity, with a defined program, international participation, a National Competition, and links to ANICC's permanent initiatives. FIC returns integrated into institutional work that continues beyond the Festival itself.

The regional assertion is based on the valorization of Angolan cinema, the international scope of the programming, training, professional exchange, and institutional continuity. The presence of works from over 18 countries expands relationships with other cinematographies and reinforces Luanda as a meeting space for professionals, creators, and audiences.

The 2026 edition marks the resumption of FIC with a perspective of continuity. ANICC's intention is to consolidate the Festival in the coming years and establish regularity in its execution.
